Known globally as the “Gqom King,” DJ Lag is a pioneering South African producer and DJ celebrated for shaping and internationalizing the sound of Gqom—a raw, percussive subgenre of house music that emerged from the coastal city of Durban. Since his teenage years, Lag has broken boundaries both sonically and geographically, becoming one of the most influential figures in global electronic music.
